Look at it this way: the approximately 1,000 billionaires in the U.S. have decided it is more important for them to have an extra $200 million than it is for the working class to have health care, food security, housing security, etc.

Does this make sense to you?

Elon Musk has more wealth than 53% of U.S. households combined. The 1% has more wealth than 93% of combined households. CEOs make 350% more than the average worker, and 60% of households are living paycheck to paycheck. These 1,000 have seen a wealth increase of $1.5 trillion – a 22% bump – since November 2024. How much did your wealth jump?

We have the power. It’s a policy choice, and as SCOTUS Justice Louis Brandeis noted, “The most important political office is that of the private citizen.”

He also noted, “We can have democracy in this country or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of the few, but we can’t have both.” Your choice.
